PRF Treatment

Platelet-Rich Fibrin for Hair

Advanced Technology. Naturally Derived.

PRF Advanced Regenerative Therapy

At The Hair Clinic Auckland, we offer Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) as an advanced autologous treatment option for people experiencing certain types of hair thinning and hair loss.

PRF is prepared using your own blood and a specialised processing technique. Unlike traditional PRP preparation, PRF is produced without the addition of anticoagulants, creating a fibrin-containing preparation that is administered to selected areas of the scalp.

PRF is administered at The Hair Clinic as part of the program designed to support the hair-growth environment.

Specialised Preparation. Clinical Precision.

How We Prepare PRF

A small sample of blood is collected into sterile tubes without the addition of anticoagulants.

The blood is processed using controlled centrifugation to produce a fibrin-containing preparation. The resulting PRF is carefully prepared and administered to selected areas of the scalp using a fine needle under sterile clinical conditions.

The procedure is performed by our experienced clinical team at The Hair Clinic.

Who May Consider PRF?

PRF may be considered as part of a treatment plan for people experiencing:

  • Certain types of pattern hair loss
  • Hair thinning
  • Selected forms of diffuse hair loss
  • Hair loss following clinical assessment
  • Maintenance treatment following hair restoration procedures

PRF may also be considered alongside other hair-loss treatment options where clinically appropriate.

Your clinician will assess whether PRF is appropriate for your particular type and stage of hair loss and will discuss the evidence, potential benefits, limitations and alternatives with you.

Delivered by an experienced Medical Team

Your Personalised Treatment Plan

There is no single treatment protocol suitable for everyone.

The number and frequency of PRF treatments will depend on your individual circumstances, treatment goals and clinical assessment.

Your clinician will recommend an appropriate treatment plan and explain what you can reasonably expect from treatment.

Individual treatment response varies and results cannot be guaranteed.

Preparation for PRF Treatments

Before treatment, your clinician will discuss your medical history, medications and supplements and provide personalised preparation instructions.

Do not stop prescribed medication, including aspirin, anticoagulants or antiplatelet medicines, unless specifically advised to do so by your treating clinician.

PRF Health & Safety

PRF is prepared from the patient’s own blood. However, as with any procedure involving blood collection and scalp injections, there are potential risks and side effects.

These may include:

  • Temporary swelling, redness or tenderness
  • Bruising or bleeding at injection sites
  • Discomfort during or after treatment
  • Infection
  • Other procedure-related complications

Your clinician will assess your medical history and discuss contraindications and potential risks before treatment.
